Practicing The 7 Virtues of Life

The quality of our life experience is determined by our attitude to the universe. If you learn and adopt the concept of The 7 Virtues, which I am about to write about, you can maximize the quality of your energy in every area of your life.

No matter what you do, make sure that you are enjoying every moment of your life in the present. Do not wait for future goals, do not wait for one day to come: do it “Now”

Life is a process and it is not static. Thus, happiness and wealth are a process too. Yet everything in life is relative. We can build big castles and the earth can blow them away all at once. However it is not how many castles we manage to build in life what determines our happiness. It is the direction that we choose. It is our awareness and our attitude what will define our life path. It is not our resources or circumstances.

Scarcity v/s 7 Virtues

7 Virtues are made of Abundance; Grace; Humility; Gratitude; Integrity; Acceptance and Balance. Having the right values is an integral part of every human being. For a human being to be virtuous; he needs to live in harmony with the Universe, our mother earth, animals and plants. Before being able to reach abundance we need to fully accept ourselves.

Abundance

Abundance is not a matter of resources that we possess. Abundance is a matter of purpose and well-being. Purpose comes from having a goal in life and well-being comes from integrity. Abundance comes with our thoughts, imagination, actions and feelings.

The state of “Abundance” is possible when you open a link between your soul and the soul of the universe, between your heart and the heart of our mother earth and a link with all of its living species and matter.

Grace

Grace is extending kindness to the unworthy. The divine initiative in the work of grace precedes, prepares, and elicits the free response of human. Grace responds to the deepest yearnings of human freedom, calls freedom to cooperate with it, and perfects freedom. The person of Grace is spiritually mature. Sanctification is a life-long journey from Law into Grace. The person of Grace is on a journey into joy, peace, love, and humility. The person of Grace looks forward to the destination, but enjoys the journey even so. The person of Grace is very loving. The person of Grace sees happiness as a choice, one that God will increasingly grow in them the ability to make. Loving the evil-doer and seeing the potential in them for goodness is the quality of a person who has Grace.

Humility

Humility is considered a state of being, highlighted by your behavior and approach to things. It’s also considered one of the virtues of the human condition, along with kindness, patience, diligence, charity, temperance and chastity.

In the absence of pride, you find humility, which sees no need for competition. In humility, you are nothing more and nothing less than the other people around you.

Humility is acknowledging others and understanding the universal values we all share that you start becoming more humble. In a way, understanding the vastness of the world around us can make us realize our own value and the humility we should feel.

Gratitude

“Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all the others.” – Cicero

Jewish, Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, and Hindu philosophers all speak of the importance of gratitude as a human virtue.

Gratitude is derived from the Latin word gratia, meaning grace, graciousness, and gratefulness. Gratitude is a state of mind-heart that has elements of wonder, appreciation, and thankfulness. We know that the ability to experience and express gratitude are essential for emotional health and wellbeing.  In fact, Maslow identified this ability as core to the success of “self-actualized” human beings. When we can experience and express gratitude we see wonder and find joy in even the most mundane things, and in the face of great hardship. Self-manage your disappointed inner child. Weave a web of gratitude and gratefulness by expressing your appreciation out loud and to others besides the giver. Following the virtue of Gratitude will make the world a better place to live in.

Remember the famous song “Heal the World” by Michael Jackson? He sings out loud to love and have gratitude which will ultimately heal all the sufferings of human race

Integrity

“Success will come and go, but integrity is there forever”

Integrity means that what you believe and what you do match in both a conscious and a subconscious level. Integrity, a facet of moral character, connotes positive and virtuous attributes such as, honesty, truthfulness, straightforwardness, and forth rightfulness. It is the antithesis of lying, cheating and exaggerating.
When you have integrity, you keep your promises. Integrity is doing the right thing at all times and in all circumstances, whether or not anyone is watching. It takes courage to do the right thing, no matter what the consequences. You have integrity when no separation exists between what you say and what you do. There is a congruence here between words and actions. Integrity determines to a great extent the respect that others have for and you have for yourself.

Acceptance

A stress free life has become a target to be achieved in present era. Being well equipped with all the materialism has rather added to the intensity of stress. Acceptance is the only antidote to stress. Life has to proceed in its own way. Everyone has own set of beliefs and tendencies owing their origin to the set of circumstances they have gone through. It is possible that the suffering one experiences following a certain path may not be experienced by another but this does not mean that the person responding to a certain situation in a way not liked by us is wrong. We just need to fit ourselves in their frame and try to think what we would have done if we had stuck in the same situation. Only then we’ll be able to better understand others and accept them the way they are. What you deny, you delay. What you accept & face in life, you conquer. When we deny, we distract ourselves from reality. Denial leads to a life of insecurity & emotional repression. The road of denial leads to the path of destruction.

Acceptance of your situation leads to freedom. It leads to happiness. Acceptance leads to clarity & solutions. As we accept, we lose our fear of the unknown. We then agree to trust that is happening. We tend to believe in the plans and intentions that the Universe has for us.

Balance

Balance is that spiritual straightness and stability that resists all influences to turn or deviate from the right path. It is the characteristic of righteousness that refuses to be allured, intimidated, or bullied into diverting from the assigned course. It resists reducing or exaggerating the truth, recognizing that error or excess in either direction, for any reason, remains error and excess.

Balance is not maintained by submitting to consensus of opinions. Nor is it maintained by seeking to posture oneself an equal distance from two extremes of life.

Balance is charting a straight course based on an accurate understanding of the unchanging word. It will often be misunderstood and misrepresented. Straightness and consistency with the word often produce apparent inconsistencies in a crooked and changing world.

Finally, it must be understood that balance is an attainable virtue. That is not to say anyone will achieve perfect balance, but real and lasting progress can be made to achieve greater balance in life and ministry. If we keep our eyes on one unchanging, immovable focus.

How will practicing the 7 virtues help me in Day to Day Life?

Wealth is a process that is in constant flow. You get to enjoy it and share it but never to possess it. Wealth is the ability to fully experience life and this ability defines our quality of energy. There are unfortunately many rich people in a resourceful sense who are living with a low quality of energy, without a purpose and with a limited ability to fully enjoy the small things in Life. This state of being comes from having a scarcity mentality and lack of integrity and purpose. When you fully accept yourself, you don’t owe anything to anyone and you automatically become part of the flow of limitless tangible and intangible resources of our ever-expanding universe.

Scarcity comes from lack of integrity and can exist in many different levels. Being in the state of Scarcity does not necessarily mean, “mean spirited”. The state of scarcity is caused by our inability to fully accept life and it is self-created by mental, emotional and spiritual obstructions.

Yet the state of abundance can only be sustained by continuous effort and humility. It is not just about getting there; it is about being there.

Meet us to know about the connection of these virtues with your physical ailments. We will be happy to guide you and help you to transform your life. Wishing every human a drug-free family.
